Conditions: Both of them with fully charged, the brightness was adjusted to the highest level and both connect to the same wi-fi network. And both playing the same 1080p video continuously.

Pipo M9

Test time: nearly 1 hour, the higher resolution screen of Cube U30GT2 got higher temperature.

Cube U30GT2, the highest temperature reaches to 40.6 Celsius degree.

Pipo M9 got 38.1 Celsius degree.

Test time: 04:40:00

Cube U30GT2 reaches to the toplimit temperature of 43.3 Celsius degree.

Pipo M9 reaches to the top limit of 42.3 Celsius degree.
As the battery almost runs out, each tablet reaches to their top limit temperature.

Conclusion: Both two tablets got a high temperature during playing the HD video, with the same hardware equipment, the one with higher screen resolution will produce a higher heating temperature.

Benchmark result comparison

Through the results above, we can see that Pipo M9 got a higher score in Antutu test, while in the Nenamark 2, GL benchmark and Vellamo HTML5 test, U30GT2 can performs much better.

After download this firmware, please unzip all the files to the root directory of your micro SD card. Insert the card into your tablet, power off the tablet. Hold “volume -” and “power” button to enter the update mode. Then choose to update from the micro SD card.

After update procedure completed, please reboot the tablet.

Upgrade instruction

Step 1:
Unzip “PhoenixUSBPro.rar”, run “PhoenixUSBPro” in the folder.
Browse and choose Key file and Image file.

Step 2:
Click “Start”, the red cross on the right side will turn to green.


Step 3:
Power off the tablet. Make you tablet set into upgrading mode.

Power off your tablet, try to hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and power button, plug in the USB cable, until your PC find new hardware.
If it not works, try to hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and press power button for 3-5 times, until your PC find new hardware.
If the your tablet has a reset hole and the above two methods do not work, please hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and press on reset hidden button, until your PC find new hardware.

If you do the upgrading for the first time, please install the Rockchip USB driver in accordant with the bellowing instructions.

There will pop-up a window to install the driver. Locate the install folder to USBDriver folder in the Phoenix folder and install the driver.



When the driver installed, the upgrade process will execute automatically.

You will see the percentage goes in the grid.
Step 4:
When the upgrade done, the indication in the grid will be green. And it
will states Finish in the result column. Click “Stop” and unplug your tablet.

Step 5:
After unplugged. Please hold the power
button to power off the tablet first and reboot it.

Note: The first boot-up after upgrade will take a few minutes. Please
wait patiently.

Upgrade instruction

Unzip the upgrade tool,  Run “RKBatchTool”.

Click, choose the firmware downloaded. Then charge your tablet with power adaptor, and USB cable connects tablet to PC.

Make you tablet set into upgrading mode.

Power off your tablet, try to hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and power button, plug in the USB cable, until your PC find new hardware.
If it not works, try to hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and press power button for 3-5 times, until your PC find new hardware.
If the your tablet has a reset hole and the above two methods do not work, please hold volume +/volume -/home/ESC button and press on reset hidden button, until your PC find new hardware.

Instructions of Installing Rockchip USB driver

After your tablet enters into upgrading mode, it will pop out a guide advising you that your PC finds new hardware. Select manually install and then click “next”

For Windows XP/2000 users

Select the USB driver in accordant with your PC system, the driver is included in the “RockusbDriver”. Then the PC will install the USB driver automatically.

After finishing USB installing,  go back to upgrading.

For Windows Vista/7/8 users

If your PC is with Win7 or Vista system, it will not pop out the guide leading you to install the driver, you get to install the driver in “My Computer”.

Right click “My Computer” , select “Device Manager”

There will be an “Unknown Device” with an exclamation mark appears.

Right click the “Unknown Device”,  select “renew driver software”

Load the USB driver included in the “RockusbDriver” to install the USB driver.

After finishing USB installing,  go back to upgrading.

After install the USB driver, the device icon turns green, click “upgrade” for upgrading. As the picture shows.

Note: If the device detected under the status of Pinky , please click “Switch”, the upgrading status will switch to Green (standby status)

Below is the upgrading process.

The tablet will turn on automatically, then you could disconnect the tablet from the PC.

U30GT2 uses a 10.1 inch IPS screen, the resolution is 1920*1200, the display looks very clear.

The back shell looks so clean, only one camera with LED and some logo. No more other things.

The thickness is only 9.5mm.

This logo shows it’s a quad core version.

Rear camera, 5.0MP CMOS sensor, with AF function.

The front camera is 2.0MP, can provide a better video chat experience.

I/O: from left to right are 2.5mm 12V/2A DC input, micro USB port, micro SD card slot, mini HDMI port, speaker, 3.5mm earphone port, MIC, volume key and power button.

The engineering crafts of U30GT2 is excellent, every joint and every part are made very exquisite.  It suits its high class market positioning.

Antutu chart states it just under the Galaxy Note II.

Wifi analyzer states it has a good signal receiption, Nenamark2 test result is 53.2 FPS, very capable for large 3D games.

Linpack test.

Vellamo benchmark result is very normal, same as the RK3066 tablets, but it’s enough for the complex webpage.

Since the RK3188 tablets released, the new cortex-A9 chip had raise the performance of tablets to a high level. We believe in the coming few months, the tablet PCs that running by RK3188 quad core processor will take part of the priority position of the market.
